Things to do in Austin, Texas

A couple of weeks ago I went to Austin, Texas for my birthday weekend, and I finally got this blog post up all about my favorite things to do there! Austin is such a cool city and I've always heard great things about it, so I went to explore for myself. These were my favorite things to do there!

Congress Avenue

Visiting Congress Avenue was the highlight of my trip. If you're looking for authentic Austin with a little bit of history and charm, this is the place to be. Here you'll find some of Austin's first hotels, the cutest and quirkiest boutiques, and amazing food! Not to mention the locals are very friendly and will tell you their favorite eateries too.

Barton Springs Pool

If your looking for something fun and free to do in Austin, Barton Springs Pool is a great option. Austin's own little tropical oasis only a few minutes from city center. Maybe not the best idea to go swimming in November, but still fun to walk around and enjoy the scenery.

6th Street

The hotspot for tourists, 6th Street is one of the most popular places to visit while in Austin. The nightlife is fantastic, and the bars are great fun. You'll see all kinds of fun and wacky places, along with street performers, live music, and great tasting food.

Mount Bonnell

One of the best free activities in Austin, Mount Bonnell features the highest peak in the city limits. There's a higher peak across the water in the city of West Lake Hills, but it doesn't come with Mount Bonnell's giant staircase or a pic nic area.

Kendra Scott Flagship Store

If you're a lover of this famed jewelry company like I am, visiting the Kendra Scott store is a must see! The store features exclusive items only sold at the flagship, a color bar where you can custom design your own jewelry, and even a café.
